Read & Share Expands to Glynn County

This past weekend we achieved our goal of expanding the Read & Share program to other counties, thanks to a microgrant from First Book, help from our Board Co-Chair and Glynn County resident, Miranda Loehle, and the dedication of The Book Bug volunteers. Through this effort, we gave away 196 free books to local children and families at Brunswick’s First Friday. Each book includes a QR code linking to the Little Free Library map, helping readers discover even more free books across their community.

During our visit, we also stopped by 30 Little Free Libraries across Brunswick, St. Simons Island, and Jekyll Island, sharing books at each one. Glynn County’s network of Little Free Libraries is thriving, and we’re proud to help keep books circulating!

Little Free Libraries in Glynn County

It’s our birthday!

For the Love of Reading was Incorporated on September 1, 2023.

To celebrate our birthday, we’ll be posting new videos on social media each day this month.

Today’s book is “The Traveling Book” by Charissa Bates & Nadja Bullis (Illustrator)

Follow us to see all of our birthday posts and to suggest more books featuring Little Free Libraries and Mobile Libraries.

Edit: TikTok coming soon! We’re having some account issues.

LFL Steward & Volunteer Meetup & Book Exchange in Morrow

We were in Morrow today for a Little Free Library Steward and Volunteer Meetup which we co-hosted with Family Literacy of Georgia, Inc.

We had two local authors attend and donate copies of their books!

Linda Drummer Green with her book
Gus the Bus Feels Better
Janie Sims with her book
Noah’s Pandemic Experience

On the way home, we also picked up several boxes of books from Family Literacy of Georgia and went to Goodwill for even more books!
